Tehran → Qazvin → Alamut Valley

Drive to Qazvin (1.5h): historic bazaar and the Ali Qapu gateway. Afternoon excursion into the Alamut Valley to see the cliff-top ruins of the Assassins' mountain fortresses.
Day 3
Qazvin → Zanjan

Drive to Zanjan (2h). The Soltaniyeh Dome (UNESCO) — mausoleum of the Mongol ruler Oljeitu and one of the largest brick domes ever built. Visit a traditional Zanjan knife-making workshop.
Day 4
Zanjan → Tabriz

Drive to Tabriz (2.5h). Afternoon at the Tabriz Historic Bazaar Complex (UNESCO) and the 15th-century Blue Mosque.

Tabriz & Kandovan
